WHEEL DRIVES
OMNIDIRECTIONAL OR DIFFERENTIAL

Wheel drives are integrated drive units for free-running transport systems (AGVs, AMRs) and for rail-bound vehicles (shuttles). Depending on the application, the differential drives are realised with or without gears (as direct drive). The motor controller for drive control can either be integrated in the drive or built remotely.
The Vehicle Core Controller (VCC) is a control platform designed for use in AGVs and AMRs and combines sequencing, control technology and functional safety in one system for the first time. This enables easy integration and control of the drives from MTA via EtherCAT and FSoE (Safety over EtherCAT).

Application areas:

Wheel drives are used in mobile materials handling for internal material transport as well as in autonomous automated guided vehicles and in railbound vehicles.
